My idea of a perfect Sunday morning is...

Sleeping as late as kids will let me, then making breakfast together. From Sep-Jan our Sundays are about football. . . and food – we make chili or buffalo chicken or guacamole and it’s a party!

Which living person do you most admire and why?

My Mom. She makes people feel good. She gets things done. She helps others. She is honest, no-nonesense, and will speak up, even when it’s unpopular. She finds time for fun and makes time for family. She always wins at Scrabble. She makes really annoying puns (which I think she picked up from my Dad.) All things I want to model after her.

The best advice I've ever gotten from a kid is..

“So, you just have a drawer somewhere full of our old baby teeth?!? Ew! That’s gross!” Not exactly ‘advice’ but made me stop & think. . .

The funniest thing my kids did this week was...

Well, my kids are at the ages now where our whole dinner table will erupt into laughter over, um. . . certain body noises. As much as I try to keep the mom face on, sometimes it really is funny and they laugh even harder when they see me holding back a smile ; )

My biggest secret for getting from to-do to ta-da is...

Artificial deadlines. So many things go on “the list” and never happen because there’s no due date. I just choose a day and time and write it next to those items, forcing myself to pay attention and make time to get to those tasks. It really works!

What always puts a smile on your face?

Sunshine, gerber daisies, dark chocolate. The sound of waves, smell of salt-air, & feeling of sand between my toes (especially if combined with the taste of a margarita.) Hearing my kids play together without fighting. Feeling so loved by my amazing husband.
