My idea of a perfect Sunday morning is...

Sleeping in ('til 8am!) or reading in bed followed by baking a fresh batch of blueberry muffins and a leisurely walk with my family and dog.

Which living person do you most admire and why?

Two of my dearest friends suffered through breast cancer last year. The grace, strength and courage they exhibited during their respective battles was truly inspiring. Now with the worst behind them, they are more vibrant than ever.

The best advice I've ever gotten from a kid is..

"Come play."

The funniest thing my kids did this week was...

My son was being very persistent about something or other and I firmly told him, "The answer is no." His matter-of-fact response: "No, it's not."

My biggest secret for getting from to-do to ta-da is...

Take it one step at a time, especially for seemingly overwhelming tasks. It truly will get you to the end.

What always puts a smile on your face?

My son's infectious laugh and his crazy red hair; summer; "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Gilmore Girl" reruns; a call from an old friend; completing the Sunday New York Times crossword puzzle; Christian Laettner's buzzer-beating basket to win the 1992 NCAA tournament; my wedding day.
