Austin Fashion Week is a series of events hosted primarily at participating retail and salon locations dotted throughout the city. Curated fashion designers from the state of Texas will set up showcases within each participating retail and salon location. These designers will work through a process to determine the best and brightest the state has to offer. The vetting committee looks for established designers, up and comers, and those just launching their first lines. They are interested in clothing, accessories, jewelry, even home accessories and furniture. In 2010, approximately 125 events occurred during Austin Fashion Week inside the participating retail and salon locations.
