Give your community some love by giving back this year! Kids on the Block is an educational puppet show presented to elementary school students in the Raleigh, NC area. A service provided by the Junior League of Raleigh, it’s a great interactive tool for schools where education and entertainment are connected.
Kids on the Block educational performances focus on disability awareness students have to deal with on an everyday basis. The traveling puppet show is designed to create a comfortable environment where everyone is encouraged to openly discuss their questions about differences like visual impairment, Down Syndrome and cerebral palsy. This unique strategy has done wonders for the classroom environment, and will continue to push students toward a more accepting and appreciative environment. The shows are candid, honest and always entertaining, and encourage everyone to participate. The end result is always to push children to be more tolerant and accepting of differences.
