The idea for Spoonful of Comfort began in October 2007 when founder Marti Wymer received a phone call from her mother who had just been diagnosed with lung cancer. Struggling with shock, fear and panic at the diagnosis, Marti didn't know how to help her distant mother. She came up with the idea to deliver chicken soup, a classic comfort food, to her mom's home. Marti's mother passed away six weeks later, but in her honor, it is now Marti's goal to help others with sick loved ones. Her promise to make and deliver a Spoonful of Comfort to your loved ones comes with as much care as if she were sending it to her own mother.
