Health and Fitness
We brush our teeth for good dental hygiene. We eat right to feel good and preserve or bodies. But what do we do for our spirits? You'll never find the time for spirituality in your day, unless you approach it intentionally.
Kripalu is a form of hatha yoga that gently deals with meditation, physical healing and transformation of spirit. This form of yoga was generally based on the practice and ideas of a world-renowned yoga expert, Swami Kripalu and can be best described as the reciprocity of your physical body, mind and energy.
Gina McCray, a Kripalu certified yoga instructor, started practicing yoga when she was diagnosed with an auto immune disease. During that time, Gina realized the incredible benefit that Kripalu had to offer, not only for the health of the body, but also for the mind and the soul. Gina is a mother of two boys, one of which is a special needs child. As a strong and determined advocate for her special needs son, Gina has worked diligently to provide the necessary resources and support for him to reach his potential. For the past five years, Gina has served as an active and contributing member of the Arc of Greater Enfield’s Board of Directors. In this capacity, Gina has been very instrumental in her support of the agency’s year round after school/work programs as well as Camp Shriver, a six week summer day camp for children and young adults with intellectual delays and related developmental disabilities. Gina is a licensed optician in both CT and MA and has been active in the field for the past twenty three years. Gina is so grateful for her well-being and the gift of life that she now has a strong desire to share her knowledge and special appreciation of yoga with others.
