Baby and Kids
We often take for granted the simple things in life: clean drinking water, food in our pantries, even the fact that our kids have shoes on their feet and school supplies in their backpacks.
As of March 1, 2012 there are 488 students in the St. Johns County School District Homeless Student program. These students range in age and span from Kindergarten through high school. With your donation of $20 today, JCP CARES will send home a backpack filled with goodies and supplies for each one of these children to have during the summer. Filled with pens, pencils, notebooks, food, toys, and other items we often take for granted, you will be making a huge different in a local child's life.
JCP Cares is a not for profit organization committed to helping local charities and others in need. The group began in June 2007 with only a handful of people in Julington Creek Plantation. Now they have more than 125 volunteers which include representatives from neighborhoods within Julington Creek Plantation, Durbin Crossing, and other surrounding neighborhoods. The work they do has allowed them to team up with several of the schools and local churches in the community as well as local businesses such as Publix, Nanak’s Landscaping, Bono's, Pinch-A-Penny, Belk Department Store and VyStar Credit Union. Since 2007 they have raised over $225,000 worth of charitable donations for many charities within St. Johns County and our volunteers have put in more than 5,000 community service hours. JCP CARES provides assistance to local charities and those in need through donations and time.
