Activities
Has your kiddo been talking a mile a minute since you took them to the circus or theatre? Yup, they've been bitten by the performer bug! Give your little star a chance to shine with a week of summer camp led by trained professional artists from Tears of Joy Puppet Theatre.
More than just getting a feel for the stage, your child will make props and puppets, balance on balls, learn to juggle, and take home their very own hand-made mask. Each camp session ends with a fun performance on the Winningstad stage for friends and family, so you can see all of your pint-sized performer's new talents!
With your free ticket you'll also have the opportunity to enjoy a performance of Perseus, a young and brave, though a little too boastful, Greek who is sent on an adventure of epic proportions! With his winged sandals, he flies to the far corners of the world where he must battle Medusa to set his imprisoned mother free. Performed with a stunning combination of Bunraku puppets, marionettes, and masked puppeteers, it is sure to be an event your kiddo can't stop gabbing about.
The Mission of Tears of Joy Theatre is to produce, develop, and present puppet theatre that celebrates the diversity of world cultures; and to teach children and enrich their lives by helping them experience, create, and perform art with professional artists.
