Mika’s Cupcakes was founded in May of 2011 by Malika and Adeyinka Awobajo. At this time the couple was taking care of multiple homeless families. Unfortunately, they did not have the means to provide for all the people they cared for and they could not turn down a person in need. They began baking just to help feed and shelter the families they were looking after. As they continue to help homeless teens and families they are using part of the proceeds from their in bakery to open a youth transitional shelter and secure a permanent store front so they can be more effective in helping to solve the homeless problem in their native California Bay Area. It is their goal to employ troubled and homeless youths and teach them the art of dessert making. Their creations are innovative, fun, and limitless.
