Activities
Your kids will be singing, "Domo Arigato, Mr. Roboto," all day long when they find out they get to go to an awesome week of creative robotics camp at Wizbots (there are two camps to choose from!)
Both camps include the use of computers, LEGO® Mindstorms NXT robotics equipment, motors, sensors, arts & craft supplies and other unique building materials. With lots of fun projects and exciting themes, boys and girls enjoy learning all kinds of new skills and exercising their imaginations! Here's more about each camp:
Robots In Space: Ever wonder what it takes to be a NASA engineer? Here’s your chance to design and build robots for space exploration! Kids will learn what it takes to explore Mars, operate the Space Station, and colonize the Lunar Surface. They'll use computers, motors, sensors and diverse building materials to create robotic systems to help the Space Program. And as the grand finale, your space engineer will get to test their powers of ingenuity and creativity on a special challenge mission!
Crazy Contraptions: Combine creativity and ingenuity with exceptional robotics and building materials to construct fantastically over-engineered Rube-Goldberg Machines: complicated contraptions to do simple things, made famous by the great cartoonist Rube Goldberg. Kids will build a series of crazy contraptions of ever increasing complexity. As the grand finale for this one, kids will all work together to construct the single, craziest machine ever!
Wizbots offers engaging, creative robotics programs for kids, ages 6-14, in the San Francisco Bay Area. They operate year-round and provide fun after school programs, summer camps, weekend workshops, community events, and birthday parties.
Robotics at Wizbots is different than anywhere else. Sure, kids will use computers, LEGOs®, and LEGO MINDSTORMS® NXT robotic equipment. However, Wizbots also throws in an abundant supply of arts, crafts and every day objects to get kids’ creative juices flowing. They also have a unique project-based curriculum that allows kids to really use their imagination and advance through different levels on their way to becoming master innovators!
