Activities
Your little jitterbugs can't sit still – and that's okay. It's actually a good thing when you bring them to Children's Center for Dance!
A 12-week winter session will keep them mobile and active while it's cold out. Their classes are unpretentious, creative, informative and fun so dance can become a part of their daily lives. Creative Movement for ages 3-5 is a 45-minute class that focuses on body and spacial awareness, timing, speed, musicality and opposites. Children are also encouraged to explore their own ways of moving through dance story-telling – which will give them the chance to express their own individuality. Jazz/Hip Hop for ages 7-12 is built for the athlete at heart, structured around a center warm-up and stretch, across the floor sequence and center combination. Students will also be given the opportunity to choreograph – perfect for kids who just love to get down.
After all, Mom, they got their rhythm from someone, right?
Children's Center for Dance was created in 2010 by Director Hilary Palanza. Award winning dancer and Choreographer, Hilary has been teaching dance for over 10 years, and dancing and performing for over 20 years in NYC, Colorado, India and San Francisco. She is amazing with children, and has created a much needed dance community for children, one of safety, happiness and expression. The studio is located right inside a Body of Work studio inside the Presidio. Close to the Presidio Social Club, Lombard Gate businesses and Cafes, this location is unbeatable. The studio is big and beautiful.
