Food and Beverage
It's impossible to walk by La Victoria bakery and not stop in. The sweet smells of their mouthwatering goodies are just too alluring.
The Mission landmark bakery, recently featured in Martha Stewart Everyday Food Magazine, is offering half off two dozen of its signature treat: the concha. Conchas are Mexican sweet bread with sweet decorative tops, made from fresh starter, eggs, milk, and a whole lot of love. For over sixty years, La Victoria has been baking pan dulce the traditional way, and the bakery has long been a cornerstone of the Mission. Use this deal for half off two dozen conchas.
Yum.
La Victoria Bakery has been making pan dulce the original way for over 60 years. Just the way grandfather and great-grandfather Maldonado had been doing before little Jr. opened La Victoria. Real milk, whole eggs. and fresh starter. We don’t do frozen, we don’t do powdered milk, and every batch has a unique recipe. We never disguise our pastries in tons of sugar like many others do. (Okay, we still do the pink cookie, but how can you have a Mexican bakery without a Polvoron Rosa?) My personal favorites are the: Niño Emvuelto, Rebanadas de Pasas, Cubilete de Queso, La Cocada, and of course, La Concha, the Queen of the Pan Dulce.
