After hosting a shopping party at Karen's apartment in 2003 with 8 designers and a handful of guests, they saw an opportunity to bring independant designers together with fashion savvy women in San Francisco. This successful event, along with their passon to foster the design community and expose independant designers, led to their creation of Appel & Frank. Karen & Jody have more than 20 years of combined experience in public relations,, marketing, and advertising.
