Activities
Kick off your child's spring with a fun and safe introduction to what will be their new favorite sport! Kids across the city are getting rugby fever, thanks to the innovative program offered by LIL' RUGGERS. Their age-appropriate rugby classes are the first of their kind in the U.S.
Children get a chance to learn the rules of this sportsmanship-focused game and to develop crucial hand-eye coordination and social skills, all under the guidance of experienced coaches. The 45-55 minute classes use soft Velcro flags and non-contact drills that are heart-pumping fun for everyone.
Choose from the following class locations and schedules:
UES –Greywackie Arch (Central Park at 79 St)
UWS – Norman’s Landscape/Dustbowl (Central Park at 86 St)
Children are notorious for exploring with their hands, which makes rugby the ideal sport for kids - they are encouraged to hold the ball and run, run, run! Through simple drills and flag scrimmages in the great outdoors (where kids belong!), the goal of LIL’ RUGGERS® is to foster listening skills, sharing, communication, and healthy behavior that will ultimately last a lifetime. In a safe, controlled, non-contact and undeniably fun way, of course!
