Activities
Making friends can be hard to do. Unless you make them in the kitchen.
The Puppet Kitchen is a place to construct and assemble all the silly or dignified puppet friends you can imagine. Spoons aren't just for scooping up ice cream! Stir up a spoon puppet with scissors, permanent markers and tacky glue. Or fashion yourself a puppet hat with a little hand sewing and hot glue. Have a fuzzier friend in mind? The Pup-It Workshop teaches you to build a puppet with crazy hair and a moving mouth! All workshops at The Puppet Kitchen are taught by award-winning puppet chefs, who will also give you a tour and introduce you to their puppet creations! You can see them in action on The Puppet Kitchen website and get ready to cook up something fun!
The Puppet Kitchen’s three Head Chefs are skilled performers, designers and innovators. Their work blends style with engineering in new ways to create dynamic visual stories. Their clients and collaborative partners include The Public Theater, PBS, TheaterWorks USA, Basil Twist, The Houston Grand Opera, Scholastic Inc., Disney Theme Parks, Dance Theater Workshop, CollegeHumor.com, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, Feist, and many more.
