Kids are the best music critics. When they hear something they like, they'll dance, wiggle, jump, and sing along. Take your tiny music lovers to see The Imagination Movers in concert on May 5th, and your kids will absolutely rock out.
The Imagination Movers are a rock band that plays kid-inspired and family-friendly songs that won't send parents running for earmuffs. In fact, one of the reasons this Emmy Award-winning band is so popular is because their toe-tapping tunes can entertain kids while also appealing to grown-up taste. They're a little bit Red Hot Chili Peppers, a little bit Beastie Boys, and a whole lot of fun.
Fresh off a gig at the annual White House Easter Egg Roll, the Imagination Movers are coming to New York for one day only, playing on May 5th at the Best Buy Theater (1515 Broadway, New York, NY). They'll be playing all their favorite songs from their wildly popular TV series, as well as debuting new material from their brand-new “Rock-O-Matic” CD/DVD.
Plum District users will get to purchase tickets for $18 each - a $29 value! There are two shows; 1:30pm and 4:30pm. Doors will open an hour before each show.
The Imagination Movers story is the ultimate example of the power of imagination. In 2003, four New Orleans friends – Rich Collins, Scott Durbin, Dave Poche and Scott “Smitty” Smith – started gathering after their kids’ bedtimes to write songs and brainstorm ideas about a children’s television show. Two years later, they had become the latest sensation of their musical city, attracting parents and children alike with an eclectic pop sensibility and lyrical turns about healthy snacks and playing catch and conquering childhood fears of bedtime.
